40 years after the musical art of hair ….. With the Hairy Revolution!
Los Angeles, California, USA August 15, 2008. Among the protests against war and economic uncertainty louder with no end in site, I would like to draw attention to Artwork from the 1960s has made an impact on my life. Remember that Posters and black lights are brighter days? Remember the rock art of the Fillmore play bills all saved? Remember that image Hair of the American Tribal Love Rock Musical? All this and more will be locked forever in my mind as a reminder of an era of innocence. Drugs, sex and rock and roll were part of Most baby boomers lives were not afraid to get stoned and watch a peace protest against the war. I always remember protesting the Vietnam War in New York and a fuzzy instance running on the rocks and hills in Central Park when they were pursued by police in a Music Festival in Concert Schaefer Central Park. We can all relive the experience of going to Led Zeppelin, Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Rail Road concerts … what time we …. Quaaludes, Benzedrine, Tuinal, Seconals. Boones Farm anyone? While most of us are all clean and sober now … still fun to remember great days.
The memories I have of the Hippie movement are resonating more than ever with the revival of hair from the American Tribal Love Rock Musical free concert in Central Park Delacorte Theater. The message is resonating more strongly with the youth and young adults of today's world than ever before. When Asked recently about the resonance and the resurgence of this iconic symbol of the young adults of today, the legendary theater producer, Michael Butler, replied emphatically: "It will not return, he never left, message hair is more relevant today than its ever been. More than 11 million people have seen the play, an estimated quarter of a billion have heard the music. It's in dozens of productions around the world at the moment. In fact, one third of all actors Americans have had some association with hair. Its been a force for good for almost four decades. "
The age of Aquarius free walking time as a bird was a historic moment that we live in the moment without a care in the world. Hair, the first ever rock opera, opened in 1968 and all of us way to reach Long Island City and New Jersey to participate in this offer community that gives us an idea of the decade of flower children who were very much a part of. It surprised the public for their letters and their contents as well as on the bare stage. The original script contains a nude scene, but it is not essential to the plot and individual productions may or may not choose to include. The original script also contains racist language which in turn can be edited on the scene today.
As recently reported in the U.S. "Today" New York trend forecasting based think tank, the Institute's research lines, which is something unique in U.S. history, a new generation to look back in time for inspiration … specifically the 1960s.
"Hair" arose from a new center ethos embraced by the radical – and charismatic – Joseph Papp, who in the mid-60s added the Public Theater of New York Shakespeare Festival Central Park. After a brief in a night club called The Cheetah, the show was picked up by Michael Butler, heir to a Chicago paper fortune. He had restaged by Tom O'Horgan, and ready for Broadway in 1968.
"When I look through my old posters, play bills, and concert flyers I have collected over the years I have such fond memories of growing up in the 60s. As a young life in southern California was pretty nice life. Save my allowance for buy the latest albums, going to concerts … everything was so exciting. One of my happiest memories is seeing the touring production of the musical Hair … and still I have the brochure game. In recent years I have been collecting posters HAIR worldwide, in different languages of different tribes! The best Poster in my collection is the reproduction opening of the original 1968 Broadway There is something fascinating about the aura around the head photographed actors. I love the colors in this work of art of which promote the love brotherhood and world peace ."….. Atchley Myrle states of Mississippi.
There are many great pop Artists of the 60s, I love Andy Warhol, John Van Hamersveld, Roy Lichtenstein, Massy and Bob. There is something very special about the work and Rodriguez Russoli created for the hair. They were experiencing the art of aura in photography. When approached by the producer Michael Butler with the idea of Marketing the new work, was presented to Steve Curry, one of the original actors in production soon to open Broadway Hair. The work was premiered on April 29 at the Biltmore Theatre in New York and sold out every night and ran for 1,750 performances. I was 16 at West Hempstead High School, where my girlfriend's mom took us to Manhattan to see the show.
Forty years later …. I love the art on the wall my ….. Frame and hang and enjoy the art takes you through the memories and the journey of our lives …
Art imitates life as we witness today's youth not to let her hair down and get what we have experienced in the sixties parallels with what is happening in the world today.
