Art Supplies

art supplies
Which art supplies would you recommend for drawing Japanese anime?

I am an aspiring Artist and I am setting up my first art studio and I was looking for some pointers like a good art desk that is wheelchair accessible and at a good price and good drawing supplies for this type of art.

I am unsure of the desk part, sorry about that.

For GREAT drawing supplies for an anime style, outside of computer anyway are really simple but can be expensive.

Most medium used these days are Copic Markers. They do run expensive at about $3.50 – $5 per marker depending on where you buy them but they are really professional and go on very smoothly. You can also buy air spray to use to make the markers go down even smoother and softer, and also the markers have refill inks.

You also will need some good multiliner pens. Copics makes good ones and I also really enjoy Pilot multiliner pens too,

A lightbox will always be good for drawings, especially if your sketches are very messy and hard to erase. Put down the original sketch and lay a paper over it, and once you flick on the light box you can see through it and go towards inking.

Aside from that lots of junk paper for sketches and nice marker paper to use for final products.

For cheaper solutions you can use prismacolor pencils or markers but I really ssuggest the copics if you can get your hands on them.

Good luck!

Laurie Berkner serves up a heaping helping of whacked-out, slaphappy lyrics and get-you-moving acoustic guitar licks. The littlest listeners (Berkner’s fan base barely skims the surface of the six-and-up crowd) will want to slip on their dancing shoes for such originals as the opening track, “We Are the Dinosaurs,” on which a pack of prehistorics prance around, stopping only to eat their food when…

From the reggae-tinged title track to the light blues of “Drive My Car” to the irresistible tease of “I’m Gonna Catch You” and at all stops in between, the 20 tracks on Laurie Berkner’s fourth record for kids dance off the disc and into the imagination, with a Goldilocks just-right ratio of silly (“Do the Dragon”) and serious (“I’m Me and You’re You”). Driving home her reputation as an Ani DiFranc…
