Artist Gallery

What was the last Artist to be exhibited in the Lipscomb Gallery in the SC State Museum?
That would be Clay Rice who, along with his grandfather Carew Rice, was well known for cutting silhouette and Landscape Art from black paper.
The museum recently commissioned Clay Rice for “Lowcountry Sunrise,” which depicts a coastal resident poling his boat through the marsh, rendered in shiny steel rather than black paper. Clay has been working most recently with steel.
