How and where do magicians and escape artists learn to open locks?
Everyone has heard of the magicians and escape artists choose the way out of handcuffs and a chain and padlock that sort of thing, but where to learn to pick locks? I know magicians learn from books or stores or other magicians and then gradually go to bigger things, but how in the world make learning to pick locks as well? I have searched and can not find any books or anything in it. Can anyone help? I am an amateur magician and I really want to go into acts of escapism.
I have been an amateur magician in his 30s, learned to open locks for 1 takeing apart, (Houdini learned the same way) I learned the hard way. And indeed, today most of the locks can not be collect. Most magicians today use stunt locks that can be found at any magic shop.
