How much does it cost to open an art Gallery?

The Art Gallery would mainly sell Prints, Posters, and some origional Oil Paintings. I am thinking of renting a store in the mall.
Other than monthly rent what other expenses are and how much?

A very important resource if you are interested in starting an art gallery is Art Business News http://www.artbusinessnews.com . This is the trade magazine for the art business, and you can find loads of helpful information from this excellent publication. I am getting a free copies of this mag, so check if you can also get one (I think a year’s subscription is around $149)

The cost of starting your own gallery would include:

- Rental
- Leasehold improvements
- Utilities
- Equipment (burglar alarm system, credit card terminals, etc)
- Initial Marketing (pre-launch, launching, etc.)
- Furniture
- Inventory
